No-Risk Testing

14 November 2025 --- Ralph

No-Risk Testing / No-Risk Policy ... We can't have anyone unhappy.

BIG POINT ... If you don't trust me, you should shop elsewhere.

This is a NO AGITA zone.  If you want a refund, just say so. Months down the road ... no problemo.   (I did once make an exception for a complete jackhole who tried to make trouble for us.   He got half his money back after TWO WINTERS.   But with thousands and thousands of transactions, one exception's not a bad record.)   Can't have anyone unhappy.  Even if it's a case of needing your money back.  Just let me know.

Also, we at WeatherWool have to be happy.   When people are unreasonable or unpleasant, we refund them and close the account.

We do our best to run a no-fine-print operation.   This page is more fine-print than I want.  But in this lawsuits-and-lawyers world, companies have to warn customers DO NOT EAT THE DETERGENT POD.

Here's me talking about testing and returns. About 58 seconds:

When you receive your WeatherWool:

  • Please try on the wool -- indoors only, please! -- as soon as you receive it, and please decide for certain whether it fits.   And don't wear it for hours indoors, either.  Make a quick decision.
  • If it does not fit really well, please return it quickly (we will provide a shipping label for US customers so you can conveniently ship it back within a week) for refund, exchange, whatever. If you keep it more than a week, MAYBE two weeks, and then decide to return it -- even if you didn't wear it -- we have to treat it as a used garment. You'll still get your full refund, but we'll take a hit
  • If you are highly confident of the fit, then you are good for field testing
  • If it does not fit really well, please don't wear it outdoors at all or even indoors more than briefly. Once the wool has been outdoors, or even worn indoors significantly or in a strenuous way, it's used. When people ask for a different size after they've been outdoors, the "exchange" costs us about $150
  • And NO PETS until you've decided to keep.  ANY PET HAIR AT ALL means USED.  We close accounts because of pet-hair returns

NO-RISK Field Testing: If you are satisfied with the way WeatherWool fits you in your living room, take it out into the field and give it your most severe field tests, for a good while.  If you are not satisfied, return the garment for a full refund. We can't have unhappy customers.

We have made this offer since we started WeatherWool. So far, there have been remarkably few refund requests, and even these were mainly due to sizing and tailoring issues (or maybe financial troubles or "significant other" troubles).   Whatever the reason, doesn't affect the policy. But whatever the issue is, we do appreciate knowing the situation.

We have great confidence in our products. WeatherWool is the favored garment among some of the most hardcore outdoor people, and should be able to meet your needs. But if not, don't fret it ... just let us know!

Also:

  • Don't ask for a full refund if you've altered the item
  • Don't send us anything purchased elsewhere

Please remember, tho ... if you are testing the wool, or if you are going into a potentially serious situation, we recommend wearing wool base layers. If you are not happy with your field test, you are welcome to a refund regardless of conditions or how you tested.  But if you don't wear wool under your WeatherWool, then you have not really seen what wool can do. Many people are so used to wearing base layers of synthetics or cotton they don't realize those materials can severely compromise the performance of any outerwear. Even large companies known for their synthetic outerwear are making and recommending merino wool base layers! We hope to eventually develop WeatherWool base layers, but that's a long time off. We are too busy with WeatherWool to do much else.

Call us at +1 831-704-1776 anytime to discuss your wool needs.   We love to talk wool.
